Some time back somebody gave me a breakdown of what the term ‘AWAKEN’ stood for. The fact that it seemed a bit cooked up did not prevent me from learning something:

A A time has to come! A time when you get out of your comfort zone and do something meaningful. God has already done His part by empowering you and its time for you to do your part.
W World view. How you see the world has to change! You have to see opportunities rather than seeing failure. You have to be visionary. We at times miss out when our vision is blinded by circumstances or by other people.
A Actual. Life is actual. You literally have to do stuff
K Knowledge– [Ecclesiastes 10:10] You need the knowledge to know how things work. We need wisdom to help us succeed.
E Emotional Intelligence
N Net Value– There is always what you can and cannot do. Your net value is the difference between these two. You have to appreciate what you can do. Don’t undermine yourself just because you cannot do what somebody else can do. Many stress themselves out just because they compare themselves to others, not realizing that God created them unique not as a copy of somebody else.
The value of some things can only be known when you are already in that place. At times I look out at lanes on a highway. And you know what? The farthest one always looks like the smallest one yet it is the same size or perhaps larger than the rest. Don’t undervalue something when you have not tried it out. Its time you get awakened and know how to use what is before you. How to maximize it for your gain… This cannot be done on the sidelines. You have to be in the ring and learn as you move around.

Awakening also applies to speech. [Eph 5:4,6a,8] speaks of keeping ourselves from filthy and empty words. Being children of light, we are to actually live this out.

Awakening is seeing the light [Isaiah 9:2] that is God himself. It is being commissioned to accomplish your purpose.

Awakening is generally getting out of sleep, out of ignorance and into revelation; Revelation of who God is and of who you are. It is taking on the nature of Christ and becoming the salt of the earth by shining bright your light.

Invitation to candy crush world

An awesome read..hehe

Candy crush Level 149

I am sure you have received many invites to play this game called candy crush. Like many of you, I used to get irritated by these invites. “What do these people who send me these invites think, that I have nothing better to do with my time? That I am looking to fill my time with a ‘useless’ game? I will even block them from being my Facebook friends just to teach them a lesson!” I know you know how those thoughts go. Then one day I decided to peek into this game just to see what the fuss was about. Bad idea, and the rest is history.

Matthew 7:7 says “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you”.  Am going to concentrate on the first part of this verse.

My mum once gave me a story that left us in a bundle of laughs…hehe…She had gone to a nearby shop to ask for change. A lady present there saw it as an opportune time to be bought something and asked “Gurira koo” (buy me a sweet). A man standing by asked the lady why she had asked for such a small thing yet my mum had money. He on the other hand asked to be bought a loaf of bread [seems my mum was in a generous moodJ]. In the end both got what they wanted according to their asking. Anyway she was using this story to teach me one principle of asking. What you ask for is what you will receive. As long as she has it, when I ask from her, she will gladly meet my expectation.

The same applies to our asking from God. Unlike my mum, He has unlimited resources. He is in fact her provider too. His abundance of resources cannot in any way be depleted and that’s what excites me. Christians at times fail in their asking. One reason is because of ignorance. They have yet to know who God really is and what role He plays in their lives. God is my father and I am his son, so I can’t ask for bread and He gives me a stone (Matthew 7:9). He is ready to provide for me. Ignorance keeps us from knowing what He has thus we are unable to even ask for it. A story is told of a King who died and left his young son as heir. The servants however took over rule and the son was made into a servant. He grew without the knowledge of His inheritance. However, when he was grown up, one of those who was loyal to his father showed him some scrolls that had been hidden away which proved that he was rightfully king. Armed with this knowledge and a little help, he took over the kingdom from the traitors and banished them from the kingdom. This just shows how far knowledge can take us forward and lack of it can be our downfall. How can you move to the place God wants you to be when you cannot see? Seek to know and have a relationship with the Holy Spirit who will reveal to you all you need. 1 Corinthians 2:12 says: “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the [Holy] Spirit who is from God, so that we may know and understand the [wonderful] things freely given to us by God. “

Secondly, we ask wrongly. Our prayers go unanswered when we do not pray according to God’s will. This is where the Holy Spirit comes in handy if we let Him. Romans 8:26 says “In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groaning too deep for words.” He helps us in our intercession for He knows the mind of God. He knows what pleases Him and what angers Him. So even as you ask, welcome the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Finally, ask in faith and have perseverance. God answers prayers according to his timing. It may not be your time to receive something but when you are faithful and persistent, it will surely come to manifestation. Be alert to God’s answer. He may come through in a totally different way from what your mere mind was focusing on. The Lord to has the best in mind for you as He declares in Jeremiah 29:11 you just need to trust in Him.

I hope this piece has enlightened you and that you will ASK with a totally different view. Cheers!

The meaning of ‘Alive’ is: living; not dead. Romans 8:11 says: “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through His Spirit which dwells in you”. The fact that the Holy Spirit is in you is evidence that you God’s life giving force is working in you.

Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 3:16) I love the new covenant because limitations that were previously in place have been brought down. The Presence of God is not confined to a specific place anymore. Our bodies have become the ‘ark’ where He dwells and we can be constantly in His presence. Coming alive is letting His glory shine through you to the world. The more we spend time with God the more we know Him and as we behold the Glory of the Lord, we are transformed into His image (2 Corinthians 3:18). At some point even our words and actions reflect Him and the life of Jesus is manifested through our bodies.

Coming Alive is having the Word of God in you. I remember the scenario where Satan came to tempt Jesus. At times he used words in the Bible to try and deceive Jesus but Jesus had such a great understanding of Scripture that for every word that the devil used He was able to defend His stand by using it. It is not just about knowing the Word of God but also practicing and living it. It isn’t just about memorizing verses but letting His will prevail over your life.

Coming alive is being made complete; attaining righteousness through Christ; being equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:17) “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God” (John 1:1) He is the Alpha and the Omega. Let Him be your light-He is the light of life. As the saying goes “The more light the more life”.

In conclusion, coming alive is being clothed with the garment of salvation. It is having Jesus as master in your life. It is walking in His light. It’s amazing how in the creation chronology, God says “Let there be light” and there was light! Yet the heavenly bodies were created on the fourth day! Rely on God for He is the source of all things. Come to a point where you no longer live but Christ lives in you. It is time for you to COME ALIVE!

Tossing and turning in the bed, the tiny blanket thrown to the side. Its 3:00 am. A creak is heard as the door slowly opens. The mother has come to check on the son. She pulls the blanket over her child and gives the child a peck. The child stills and goes back to sleep. He may wake up thinking the same way he slept was how he woke up. Little does he know that somebody was watching over, somebody came and straightened the legs wrongly placed, ensured that he will not wake up with sore neck.

God watches over us the same way a mother cares for a child. He ensured that calamity did not meet you. We may not realize His movements. That’s why we are called to constantly praise the Lord. The fact that you are alive is evidence that He is watching over you. His eyes are watching your every move and His cover is on you.

Seated in church and this child strolls by. He pauses and scans my face then moves along. I realize he does the same at every church pew. I realize he is looking for somebody. A cry of joy escapes his mouth as he rushes towards the mother. He had found her. He did not know anyone else there but recognized the mother.

Can you recognize God? Do you spend time with Him to know His personality? Can you pick Him out of a crowd? Can you recognize His work and that of a fraud?

Spending time with God will take you to levels you have never imagined. No deceiving spirit can get to you because you are so acquinted to the “spirit of truth” that anything less than that will not escape your attention. Am on a mission to know my God…hope this draws you to do the same.

Reaching out
Yes…reaching out, though I don’t know why I need to reach out to my home
Have I lost my place or did I forget my right? He calls me back!!
Heaven’s so real
The glory is overwhelming
The Joy is overflowing
The Peace is unexplainable
My God reigns
I enter His courts with trembling, in awe of His power
His love breaks me
I am unable to express all of Him
I am still in His embrace
